What, in your opinion, is the worst SMS game? I never really got into sports games but I cannot say any were bad much less the worst. I actually really liked all the games I have played and find it difficult to say which is worst. how about you?

For me it would be Alex Kidd The Lost Stars; it took a promising franchise and parlayed it into the wrong direction. They could have just played it safe at that point and brought out a bigger and better "Miracle World" but instead changed some things up and released a forgettable and not very fun sequel. Also it was the first time that I ever experienced the feeling of buyers remorse over a video game, (Not a good feeling when you are eleven years old and know that you are not getting another game any time soon) so the game is notorious for that.
Ghostbusters seemed awful initially because I couldn't figure out what the rules and goals were; but once I understood what was going on I did have some fun with it and could beat the game regularly.
Aztec Adventure wasn't a poor game, just really annoying in many ways, although I believe that I did finish that one also.
Actually Sega had fairly good sports titles; this was back when sports games did not focus on realism and were not that different from playing any other type of game. Great Baseball, Great Football (Two Player anyways) Great Basketball, Great Soccer, Reggie Jackson Baseball, Walter Payton Football, and last but not least Pro Wrestling were all fun to play, and in many (But not all, Nintendo definitely had better hockey games, and a slight edge for baseball thanks to Baseball Stars and Baseball Simulator 1000) cases better then their NES counterparts. These games were actually more enjoyable then Sega's later sports games during the latter half of the Genesis era when they were attempting to directly compete with EA, and failing miserably at it.

shiningphantasy this is not a diss, but I just read what you posted, but I was going to say and still am, any sports game that start with Great is horrible. All of them are bad. That is a few of the worst games for me

For their time and the evolution of sports games many of the Great games were competent; while as I stated the NES eventually had the best baseball games Great Baseball came out favorably when compared to NES games released in the same time-frame like RBI Baseball. Great Football was good as a two-player game, but lacking in one-player mode since you didn't get to play defense, but the play controls were still better than the early NES football games like NES Play-action football or John Elway's (My favorite football player by the way) quarterback. Great Basketball and Great Soccer were more comical but they controlled fine and were simplistic fun for what they were, certainly not realistic or anything. The remaining games in the Great sports line were bad; all of them were better for two-player versus rather than solo. If you are seeking accurate sports simulations than these games wouldn't be for you, but you could say that about any eight bit sports game in existence.

F-16 Fighting Falcon. I just get nothing out of it. It's so slow paced, choppy, and boring. The visuals are a muddy mess. I know it's supposed to be an actual flight sim thus void of any arcade elements, but that doesn't mean it should be unplayable! LOL... maybe I'm being too harsh. Probably not. :-)

He, he it is a polar opposite of Afterburner; I don't think that it even has actual graphics, just lines and graphs over a blue backdrop if I remember correctly. I can't say how it plays though since it was the one early SMS game that I refused to take any interest in. It looked like it belonged on a Apple 2E.

I am interested just to see how bad it is. Time to click on the old emulator!

I took a quick refresher look at the game on Youtube; as suspected it plays as bad as it looks, you have to actually use two controllers simultaneously to play the game; an early and clumsy flight simulator in its' more pure form.
Reminds me of the time long ago when my best friend said that he would buy me F16 Fighting Falcon for my birthday; I told him that I didn't want it and he responded by calling me ungrateful. It's like as if I were to inform him that I would get him Urban Champion (NES) for his birthday; no need to have useless garbage taking up valuable space. I ended up receiving "Alex Kidd in Miracle World" so ungrateful or not I came out ahead on that exchange. I can't quite remember what I got him, but I spared him Urban Champion, I believe that it was Rush N' Attack.

Almost certainly Heroes of the Lance followed closely by F-16 Fighter. Both dreadful games.

My Hero. It's so inanely difficult (trust me, you're better off jump kicking to get around).

Aztec Adventrure, F16 Fighter and Alex Kidd The Lost Stars. Aztec Adventure? That was fun. Or at least it was when I was younger.
