If you could only play 1 game for the rest of your life what would it be? You are allowed to play multiplayer on the couch if people are over, but online play is out. Mine would have to be Battletoads on NES. I can play that game over and over and over and it is still just as fun as it was when I was a kid.

Hmmm...That's a tough one. If I had to choose, I'd probably pick Pokemon HeartGold. It's such a lengthy game and there's so much to do. Plus there's the fact that each time you play you're gonna end up catching different pokemon with different abilities, so there's the replayability factor. Then again, Animal Crossing would also be a good choice since it's designed to be a neverending game.

Haha, nice choice with Animal Crossing. It really can be a joy to be in that world (and play some classic games within that world).
I could be a little sneaky and say Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection on the Xbox 360. It has 48 classic Sega games in total (including 2 SMS and 7 Sega Arcade unlockables). But that's not really fair choosing a title like that.
If I could only play one game for the rest of my life? It's got to be Space Harrier. That's a game I love to death, and one I've never mastered. If I had all my life to play it, I suppose I COULD master it. There you have it!
PS- Going to move this to the Retro Gaming section. I know it's quite possible that someone could choose a Modern game, but I feel it's better suited there.

Well I would want something that has some replay value and that I could play in quick bursts--but nothing resembling a mobile game--so I would have to go with Lords of Thunder for Turbografx Super CD; great game and equally great soundtrack.

Nice choices everyone! Thanks ShinobiMan, I thought about that but for that reason exactly I decided differently. Yeah, ideally Animal Crossing, Sims, Harvest Moon, stuff like that would be all great choices on the grounds that it changes so much, but it's hard for me to play those over and over.

Phantasy Star. Long enough to keep me occupied for a long time and has great replay value!

Tecmo bowl is great but 007 really? That game has not aged well with me. Its fun though for sure.

Probably Dark Wizard (sega cd) - you can create all sorts of limitations on the way you play - for example one time I played with an all hobbit army (with the exception of the three lead characters and other races needed to get the special classes). That was tough. Another time I defeated the four demons in reverse order. You can also limit the number of hired units you use (and don't use more than one dragon (for the dragone rider) if playing Krystal - those wyverns are uber strong and easily the best summoned creatures in the game).
My second choice would probably be Nectaris for the pS - there is one heckuva lotta gameplay on that disc.

I was trying to think of any game besides Battletoads that I might think about picking and the only one I can really think of would be Oddworld... actually, I can think of another. Silent Hill 3 would be really really close. I absolutely adore that game.

OK I just looked up Dark Wizard and it looks great!! I am going to have to try and track this down! If you like that sort of game it is well worth tracking down The first time or two that you play it can be somewhat confusing since the manual is not terribly good Also, once you play it you have a better idea of what the various classes of hired units, races and summoned monsters can do - and it helps a lot if you have a plan of what your final army is going to look like at the get go If you track it down and have any questions about it feel free to ask me - I have the game pretty well mastered

I do like the strategy games and RPG's and this looks right up my alley.

Dark Wizard was definitely on my checklist in 1995 when I first acquired a Sega CD, but since the console was not working properly and I didn't get another one I did not end up playing it. Also similar to this game in ways would be Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn but you would have to pay a kings' ransom to get a copy now most likely. Had that one in 1997 but really wasn't in the mood for the time-consumption of RPG's at that time so I sold it without playing past the title screen, or not at all in other words.

Just Watched the intro of Dragon Force on YouTube. It looks really good. Reminds me of Record of Lodoss War (the Anime not the game)
